ギャラリーそうめい堂では、高橋梓の個展「泳ぐ庭／Floating Garden」を開催いたします。
高橋は、東京藝術大学在学中に渡欧し、アイルランドを拠点に制作を行いました。高橋は、そうめい堂の展示空間を目にした際、欧州で見た建築物の中庭を連想したそうです。その中庭は、空が大きく見え、鳥たちは飛び交い、まるで宙に浮いているようだったといいます。浮動的に様相が移り変わる庭の情景と、変化する自分自身を重ね合わせたという本展覧会では、多数の色・形・質感が飛び交うような作品を展示いたします。

Gallery Soumeido is pleased to present "Floating Garden" a solo exhibition by Takahashi Azusa.

Takahashi stayed in Europe while still a Tokyo University of the Arts student and based her work in Ireland.

Takahashi, who had often observed birds in Japan since she was a child, also encountered local birds in the courtyards she saw in Europe.
From that courtyard, Takahashi recalls, she had a wide view of the sky, and the garden seemed to be floating in midair as they flew by.

In this exhibition, Takahashi projects her own changing image onto the floating garden scene, as if it were floating in the water, in the Soumei-do whose space is imitated as if it were that courtyard.
