織田一磨は洋画を川村清雄に、石版画を金子政次郎に学び、近代美術としての版画を主張する創作版画運動に参加することで日本初の創作石版画家となった。
北斎を中心に浮世絵版画を研究し、浮世絵同様に、時代の移り変わりを新鮮に表現した風景画等に特徴がある。
