Elizabeth Keith was born in Scotland and studied painting by herself.
In 1915, when Keith was 28 years old, she visited Japan to see her old sister, and then, she attracted to Japanese landscapes and cultures and started to learn Ukiyo-e.
She had spent in Japan for 9 years since the year and returned to Japan with her old sister from 1929 to 1933. Then she had traveled around Asia and created more than 100 artworks whose motifs are common scenery in the days.
