手ぬぐいを頭に乗せ、軽やかに躍り出た猫3匹は、尾が2つに分かれた妖怪猫又である。岡崎は鍋島、有馬とともに「三大化け猫伝説」の舞台に数えられ、魅力的な伝説が多く残る。

豊国三代は豊国の門人で、まず国貞と名乗り、天保15年には豊国二代を名乗った。（実際には既に豊重が豊国二代を襲名していたが、自分の方がふさわしいという意図なのか当時は二代を名乗ったのだという。現在は区別の為に豊国三代として扱われる。）
作画期が長く、その作品数は一万点以上に及ぶと考えられている。特に役者絵・美人画等の人物の描写に定評があり、その作品数や勢いからして江戸浮世絵界を風靡していたことが窺える。

Wearing tenugui towels on their heads, three cats are leaping lightly into a dance; they were the yokai Nekomata, recognizable by their tails split into two. Okazaki, along with Nabeshima and Arima, is counted among the stages of the 'Three Great Monster Cat Legends,' with many fascinating legends remaining.

ToyokuniⅢ was a student of Toyokuni. He first took the name Kunisada, and in 1844 he took the name ToyokuniⅡ. (In fact, Toyoshige had already succeeded ToyokuniⅡ, but ToyokuniⅢ also took the name of Toyokuni Ⅱ at that time, perhaps intending to make himself more suitable. Today, He is treated as the third generation to distinguish between them.)
ToyokuniⅢ had a long period of painting, and some articles thought he produced more than 10,000 works. He was primarily known for depicting people, including portraits of actors and beautiful women. His number of works and popularity suggest that he dominated the Edo Ukiyo-e world.
