Nobukazu was an ukiyo-e artist active during the Meiji period. He was a pupil of Chikanobu, who became known as a painter of beautiful women after depicting warrior prints and scenes from the Satsuma Rebellion.
Nobukazu created many works, including war prints from the Sino-Japanese and Russo-Japanese wars, portraits of beautiful women, genre scenes, as well as depictions of expositions and the National Diet, illustrating various aspects of Japan’s modernization.
