Hoei-do, the publisher of Hiroshige's success work "53 Stations of the Tokaido" (1833-34), began publishing "69 Stations of the Kisokaido" in the following year (1835).
At first, Eisen was the artist in charge, but Hiroshige took over after publishing 24 works. The publisher also moved to Kinjyudo during the process, and it took about six years to complete the 71 illustrations in total. Shopping Guide & Information
