恵の雨の中田植えを行う農民を描いたこの作品の舞台は、現在の鳥取県西部にあたる伯耆（ほうき）。
「六十余州名所図会」（ろくじゅうよしゅうめいしょずえ）は、広重による日本全国の名所を描いたシリーズ。
全図とも画面は縦長で、前景を大きく描き遠近を強調するなど、斬新な構図がとられている。

This artwork with the farmers who are planting rice seedlings is the depiction of Hoki. Hoki is the old name of the west area of Tottori prefecture.
In Edo-period, rice planting was the event of whole villagers. It was very hard work, however, we can see their calm and enjoying face even in the heavy rain.
"Famous Places in the 60-Odd Provinces" is a series by Hiroshige depicting famous places throughout Japan.
All of the works are vertically oriented, with innovative compositions such as a large foreground and emphasis on perspective.
