吹雪の中、傘を傾け歩む美人を描いた1枚。傘を持つ手は美しい羽織に包まれ守られている。
様々な方向から吹き付ける激しい雪の表現は見事で、その動きを出す為に鮫の皮で叩くという手法が用いられたという。厳しい自然を感じさせる吹雪は、その対比によって、美しい髪飾りや着物で着飾った少女の無垢さを強調しているように思える。
伊東 深水が18歳（大正5年）の頃、清方塾生による郷土会展に「対鏡」を出品したところ、渡邊庄三郎の目にとまった。木版画にすれば必ず良い作品が制作できると確信した庄三郎は、新版画の制作を決意。以後、大正5年から昭和35年までの間に130点を超える深水の新版画が制作された。
その後も、日本画家としても文展に入選するなど早くから注目を集め、文展、帝展、新文展、戦後に入って日展を主な舞台として活躍し、日本を代表する美人画家として認められていった。

The expression of the heavy snow blowing from various directions is magnificent. The publisher used a technique of beating with a sharkskin to express the heavy blowing snow. The contrast of the snowstorm, which evokes the harshness of nature, emphasizes the innocence of the woman dressed in her beautiful hair ornament and kimono.
In 1916, when Ito Shinsui was 18 years old, an exhibition of the pupils of Kiyokata was held. Shinsui exhibited "Woman Looking in a Mirror" at the exhibition, and it fascinated Watanabe Shozaburo. Then Watanabe decided to start making woodcut print works of Shinsui, and later, he produced over 130 printworks from 1916 to 1960.
