浮世絵の影響を強く受けた画家としても有名なゴッホが自ら買い求めた浮世絵の１点として、同じ図柄の異なる摺の作品がオランダのヴァン・ゴッホ美術館に収蔵されている。ゴッホが所有していたのは三枚続のうち右図のみとされており、ゴッホ自身も不完全なものであるとは知らず所有していたと考えられている。
国貞は豊国の門下で浮世絵師随一とも言われる数万点の作品を残し、国芳や広重を押さえて当時人気を誇った浮世絵師である。
22歳で浮世絵界にデビューしてから79歳で亡くなるまで、歌舞伎や吉原、当時の文化風俗など、まさに「江戸文化の全て」を描き切り、浮世絵界のトップランナーとして走り続けた大御所中の大御所といえる。

This work is one of the Ukiyo-e works that Van Gogh, who is famous as an artist strongly influenced by Ukiyo-e, purchased for himself, and different prints of the same design are in the collection of the Van Gogh Museum in the Netherlands. It is believed that Van Gogh owned only the right part of the prints of the triptychs and did not know it was incomplete.
From his debut in the Ukiyo-e world at the age of 22 until his death at 79, Kunisada depicted "All aspects of Edo culture," including Kabuki, Yoshiwara, and the culture and customs of the time, making him one of the most influential Ukiyo-e artists of all time.
