火灯し頃、箱根から西に見た富士を描いた一枚。奥に沈みかけた日は空を美しく染めている。
高橋松亭（1871 - 1945）は、東京は浅草出身の浮世絵師・版画家である。はじめ日本画を学び、挿絵の仕事などを経た後の1906年頃より浮世絵の複製版画の再版に携わり、それがきっかけで後の新版画版元の渡辺庄三郎と知り合ったとされている。松亭によって描かれた図は大変好評を博し、その後渡辺の元から「新作版画」として輸出用に制作された。その後、渡辺は更に松亭の「新版画」（新作版画とは区別される）を500点以上制作したが、1923年の関東大震災によって版木や版画が全焼、その後一部の作品は入念に制作し直された。よって震災前の作品に制作された作品は希少性が高くなっている。
また、弘明は松亭の別名である。

This print depicts Mt. Fuji seen from Hakone to the west at dusk, when people begin to turn on their lights. The sun setting behind it beautifully tints the sky.
Takahashi Shotei (1871 - 1945) was an Ukiyo-e artist born in Asakusa, Tokyo. After studying Japanese-style painting and working as an illustrator, around 1906 he attended to producing of Ukiyo-e reproductions, which is said to be how he came to know Watanabe Shozaburo, the later publisher of Shin-Hanga. Since Shotei’s drawing for prints were so well received, Watanabe decided to produce "Shinsaku-Hanga" for export. Watanabe also produced more than 500 of Shotei's "Shin-Hanga" (distinct from Shinsaku-Hanga), but the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923 destroyed the woodblocks and prints, and some of the prints were carefully reproduced afterwards. Therefore, works produced before the earthquake are rare.
弘明 is another name for Shotei.
