書画五十三駅は、画面を張交のようにコマ割りし、文人墨客の言葉や詩等と、五十三の各駅にまつわる故事を組み合わせ楽しんだシリーズ。コマ絵にはそれぞれ担当絵師がおり、1枚で複数の個性を楽しめる充実した内容となっている。明治期に制作されたこともあり、電柱のような装飾が配されているのも時代背景を感じさせおもしろい。

This is the series divides the image like a panel, combining the words and poems of literati with anecdotes from each of the fifty-three stations for enjoyment. Each panel is divided by different artists, allowing for the enjoyment of multiple personalities in a single piece. Produced during the Meiji period, the inclusion of decorative elements like telephone poles adds an interesting touch, evoking the historical background.
