銭湯の女湯での派手な喧嘩をユーモラスに描いた作品。番台や石榴口、壁一面の広告びらなど当時の風俗が細かく表され、資料的にも興味深い。芳幾は国芳の門下で、芳年の兄弟子にあたる。国芳が没した後に、芳幾は遊女屋風俗などを描いて幕末から明治初期にかけての浮世絵師の第一人者のひとりとなった。

A work humorously depicting a flamboyant quarrel in the women’s section of a public bath. The attendant’s counter, the bath entrance, and the walls covered with advertisements are all depicted in detail, making it an interesting reference for the customs of the time. Yoshiiku was a pupil of Kuniyoshi and the senior fellow student of Yoshitoshi. After Kuniyoshi’s death, Yoshiiku became one of the leading ukiyo-e artists of the late Edo to early Meiji period, known for his depictions of courtesan-house scenes and related customs.
