様々な作品を描いてきた広重が最後にたどり着いたのは、大胆な構図が特徴の「名所江戸百景」であった。「名所江戸百景」は、モネやゴッホといった印象派の巨匠たちが模写したことで世界的にも知られている。高い視点から見下ろす俯瞰図や前景に印象的な素材を大きく描く遠近法、様々な摺りの技術を駆使した表現方法など、晩年に至ってなお新しい試みが随所に見られる意欲作である。日頃何気なく目にしている風景が、広重の手に掛かればこうも印象深くなるのかという驚きこそが、江戸の人々を魅了したのではないだろうか。
この作品では、賑わいを見せる隅田川沿いと両国橋が描かれている。

This series is also known with the episode of that the impressionists' artists, for instance, Monet and Gogh, imitated for the practice.
People in Edo surprised and fascinated by the new impression of the views in daily life that are depicted in Hiroshige's artworks.
