薄暗い夏の夕方、舟に乗り込む3人をとらえた1枚。夕涼みという言葉にふさわしく、涼しげな夜風が柳をゆらしている。
国貞二代は国貞（豊国三代）の門人の一人である。嘉永3年には豊国三代の長女の婿となって国政二代を称したが、嘉永5年には国貞二代と称している。これ以降、師豊国三代後を継いで活躍。豊国三代が没した後の明治3年頃からは豊国四代を名乗った。

The willow leaves swaying together with the cool wind and it looks comfortable.
KunisadaⅡchanged his artist name several times.
He was one of the pupils of Kunisada (=ToyokuniⅢ) and started to use the artist name KunimasaⅡ once he married the daughter of ToyokuniⅢ. And later, he changed his name to KunisadaⅡ and gained a reputation by taking over the ToyokuniⅢ's painting style.
Also, he changed the name to ToyokuniⅣ once ToyokuniⅢ died.
