Tateyama has been worshipped as a place where the gods dwell since ancient times because of its majestic appearance. In the foreground, a Yamabushi (an ascetic who regards the mountain as the body of the deity and Buddha, and who practices asceticism by entering the body of the deity and Buddha) is depicted.
Hiroshige II was a pupil of Hiroshige and was initially known as Shigenobu. After Hiroshige's death in 1858, he became the son-in-law of Hiroshige and assumed the name Hiroshige II. He also participated in Hiroshige's "One Hundred Famous Views of Edo" series, and "Akasaka Kiribatake: Evening in the Rain" was inscribed as a "Hiroshige II painting. "
Later, he separated from Hiroshige's daughter Otatsu and continued to produce Yokohama paintings and Kaika-e paintings under the name of Rissho.
