"Shunjo Yubi Ningyo" (Shunjo Finger Puppet) is one of Eisen's best-known shunga works of the late Edo period. Both the carving and the printing are characteristic of the Tempo period, and the work is composed on a beautifully colored artworks.
Eisen started out painting fragile female beauties like his master, Eizan, but later became popular for his unique and bewitching style of painting.
Her paintings are characterized by a six-headed, long-bodied, hunchbacked female figure that is full of refracted emotions. Eisen portrayed prostitutes in Oka places like Fukagawa and in Yoshiwara brothels as women with a bewitching and strong-willed look in their eyes. This work symbolically represents the decadent aesthetic of the late Edo period, the Bunka-Bunsei period, and shows a strong painting style that reflects the state of affairs at the end of the Edo period.
