小泉癸巳男が「昭和大東京百図絵」の百景を完成させたのは、昭和12年のことであった。石井柏亭はこの情緒的な百図絵を見て、小泉を「昭和の広重」と評したという。本作品は、昭和16年に上野松坂屋で開催された「小泉癸巳男創作・昭和大東京百景版画展覧会」で販売されたもので、桐箱には小泉自身により題名、日付、名前が記載されている。
小泉癸巳男（1893 - 1945）は戸張孤雁・織田一磨に師事。ついで堀越貫一に木版彫刻をならい、大正期に開花した創作版画運動に参加した。小泉は、生涯にわたり自画自刻自摺を丁寧に実践した版画家である。

It was in 1937 that Koizumi Kishio completed this series. Ishii Hakutei, a Japanese artist and art critic, has described Koizumi as the "Hiroshige of the Showa era" after seeing these tasteful artworks. This work was sold at the "Exhibition of Prints of 100 Views of Great Tokyo in the Showa Era, Created by Koizumi Kishio," held at the Ueno Matsuzakaya Department Store in 1941. Also, Koizumi wrote the title, date, and name on the paulownia wood box by himself.
Koizumi Kishio (1893 - 1945) studied under Tobari Kogan and Oda Kazuma. He then participated in the Sosaku-Hanga printmaking movement, which began during the Taisho period (1912 - 1926). Koizumi carefully practiced self-engraving and self-printing throughout his life.
