前川千帆は、恩地孝四郎・平塚運一とともに「御三家」と称された、近代日本を代表する創作版画家である。漫画家として名を成すかたわら木版画を手がけた。千帆は庶民のつましくも平和な日常に温かなまなざしを注ぎ、時にほのぼのと、時にしみじみと、人や街、温泉地の作品を制作した。
