Yoshitora was most active in the Yokohama-e - the artworks related to Yokohama and foreign cultures, and Kaika-e - the artworks depicting new customs and manners around the time of the Meiji Restoration, and produced the artworks of many foreign landscapes most Japanese have not seen at the time.
