Maekawa Senpan was the artist of Sosaku-hanga. He was known as one of the "Big Three" along with Onchi Koshiro and Hiratsuka Unichi.
He drew cartoons for newspapers and gradually became recognized as a cartoonist. Besides that, he started making woodblock prints.
