英泉は、師である英山が描くような儚げな女性の美人画を描いていたが、その後、独自の妖艶な画風で人気を博することになる。
江戸時代、重要な輸送路であった隅田川は納涼期間のみ宴席や遊びのために船を出すことが許された。後ろに架かる両国橋も行きかう人々で賑わう様子が描かれている。

Eisen painted ephemeral female beauties like his master Eizan, but he later became popular for his unique and bewitching style of painting.
During the Edo period, the Sumida River was an important transportation route, and boats were allowed to sail only during the hot season from the end of May to August for parties and fun. The Ryogoku Bridge in the background is also depicted crowded with people passing by.
