明治23年、春汀は得意であった画業を志して上京し、富岡永洗のもとで絵を学んだ。
浮世人物画を極めた春汀は特に柔らかな子供絵や美人画を得意とし、雑誌や新聞の挿絵など多く手掛けている。

"12 Months of Beauties" is a series of 12 triptychs. This series shows Shuntei's characteristic soft impression style. The customs of women enjoying the seasons are delicately portrayed.
The works featured here are a compilation of all 12 pieces from the series, bound together into an album.
In 1890, Suntei traveled to Tokyo aspiring to became a painter, and studied under Tomioka Eisen.
Mastering ukiyo-e portraits, Shuntei particularly excelled in soft depictions of children and beauties, undertook numerous illustrations for magazines and newspapers.
