旅先では海や港、魚市場を取材するのを好んだという小野忠重らしい海の風景。
小野忠重は昭和７年に新版画集団を設立し、労働者や民衆の生活を題材にした作品を制作する。その後は木版陰刻などの手法により独自のマチエールを持った作風を確立していった。版画史や古地図、浮世絵の研究者でもある。

The seascape is typical of ONO Tadashige, who liked to cover the sea, ports, and fish markets in his travels.
ONO Tadashige formed the Shinhanga-artists group in 1932 and made prints depicting workers and the everyday life of the common people.
After that, he established a style with his own unique matiere by using woodblock engraving and other techniques. He was also a researcher of print history, old maps, and Ukiyoe.
