Yoshikata (1841-1864) was a ukiyo-e artist of the late Edo period. He became a disciple of Kuniyoshi at around the age of 12 or 13 and primarily worked on warrior prints. However, he passed away at the young age of 24, resulting in a limited number of works.
The featured work was published in 1866, following Yoshikata's death.
