前川千帆は、恩地孝四郎・平塚運一とともに、「御三家」と称された創作版画家である。
新聞社で漫画を描き、次第に漫画家として認められる傍らで、木版画の製作を始めた。清澄な彫摺と躍動感のあるユーモラスな造形により、独自の作風を拓いたその作品は、今なお色褪せない魅力を有している。

Maekawa Senpan was one of the leading Sosaku-hanga artists of modern Japan. He was recognized as one of the 'Big Three' in this movement, alongside Onchi Koshiro and Hiratsuka Unichi.
He initially drew cartoons for newspapers and gradually gained recognition as a cartoonist. In addition, he began creating woodblock prints.
His works, characterized by their pure engravings and lively, humorous forms, pioneered a unique style and continue to hold their timeless appeal.
