Kiyonaga (1752 - 1815) was an ukiyo-e artist who was active in the Edo period. He was the fourth head of the Torii school and is a representative artist of that school. His characteristic depictions of imposing, beautiful, well-proportioned women are unique. Also, his brushwork, which evokes the figures' graceful mannerisms, indicates his technique.
