諸国名橋奇覧の一枚、かめいど天神たいこばしは、現実の風景を誇張・変形させ、デザイン的な驚きを生み出す北斎の構成力が爆発した傑作です。亀戸天満宮に現存する太鼓橋を描いていますが、その表現は極めてユニークです。北斎は実際の橋よりも勾配を急にし、まるで満月のような円弧として描きました。この円のフォルムが画面全体のデザインを支配しています。

One print from the series Remarkable Views of Bridges in Various Provinces, Kameido Tenjin Taikobashi is a masterpiece in which Hokusai’s compositional power—his ability to exaggerate and transform real landscapes to create striking design—bursts forth with exceptional force.
The print depicts the taiko bridge that still exists at Kameido Tenmangu Shrine, yet its treatment is highly distinctive. Hokusai steepened the arch far beyond that of the actual bridge, rendering it as a perfect curve like a full moon. This circular form dominates and governs the entire composition.
