山高登は、昭和から令和にかけて活動した版画家。
新潮社で働く傍ら年賀状を木版画で制作しており、それがポプラ社の担当者の目に留まったことから子供向けの全集の挿絵を担当した。
山高は昭和の東京を愛し、時代と共に消えゆくものを手元に留める様に、その後も精力的に作品を制作。
多くの美しい版画作品を残し、令和2年にこの世を去った。

Yamataka Noboru was a printmaker active from the Showa to the Reiwa period.
While working at Shincho-Sha, Yamataka made New Year's greetings cards printed with woodblock printing, which caught the eye of the publisher, and he was given the job of illustrating a children's book.
Yamataka loved Tokyo in the Showa era and continued to produce works as if he was trying to preserve something that was disappearing with the times.
He left behind many beautiful prints and passed away in 2020.
