この作品の主役は、黄金色を広げる巨大な公孫樹の大樹である。光の当たり具合によって変化する黄色のグラデーションを、新版画特有の精緻な「摺り」の技術で見事に表現している。特に、地面を埋め尽くす落ち葉の絨毯と、空を覆う葉の重なりは、見る者に「光そのもの」を浴びているような錯覚を与える。

The central focus of this work is a magnificent giant ginkgo tree spreading its golden foliage. The varying gradations of yellow created by the changing light are masterfully expressed through the refined printing techniques characteristic of Shin-hanga. In particular, the carpet of fallen leaves covering the ground and the overlapping canopy above create the illusion that the viewer is bathed in light itself.
