錦帯橋は、周防（すおう、現在の山口県東部）の国、岩国の錦川にかかる木造の名橋である。遡ること350年前、1673年に創建された錦帯橋は、錦川によって分断された城下町を繋ぎ、人々の往来を支えた。
橋はその後台風などで幾度か流され再建されたが、残された図面によって創建当時の木造の構造を残し、現在も同じ姿で人々を迎えている。

「六十余州名所図会」（ろくじゅうよしゅうめいしょずえ）は、広重による日本全国の名所を描いたシリーズ。
全図とも画面は縦長で、前景を大きく描き遠近を強調するなど、斬新な構図がとられている。

Kintai-kyo Bridge is an arched wooden bridge over the Nishiki River in Iwakuni, Suo (present-day eastern Yamaguchi Prefecture). Built 350 years ago in 1673, Kintai-kyo Bridge connected the castle towns divided by the Nishiki River and supported the traffic of people.
The bridge collapsed several times due to typhoons and had to be rebuilt. Still, according to structural drawings left over from the Edo period, the wooden structure of the original construction has been restored and still welcomes people in the same form today.

"Famous Places in the 60-Odd Provinces" is a series by Hiroshige depicting famous places throughout Japan.
All of the works are vertically oriented, with innovative compositions such as a large foreground and emphasis on perspective.
