放浪の画家といわれた寺崎広業（てらさき こうぎょう）は、放浪を重ねた後に師の平福穂庵（ひらふく すいあん）の紹介で口絵の仕事を始め、諸派名画を模写して総合的画法の基礎を築いた。
その後は日本画の大家として活躍し、300人ほどの門下生も育成するなど、教育の面でも尽力した。

Terasaki Kogyo, who was called the "Wandering painter," started working as a Kuchi-e artist through the introduction by his teacher Hirafuku Suian, after a long period of wandering. He laid the foundation for a comprehensive painting method by copying famous paintings from various schools.
He became a significant artist in Japanese painting and trained some 300 students.
